Spertus Faculty

Edward Breuer

Edward Breuer, a native of Montreal, received his PhD at Harvard University. He has taught at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, McMaster University, The University of Pennsylvania, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, and most recently The Hebrew University. Widely published in modern Jewish thought, he is the author of The Limits of Enlightenment, and articles in journals such as Harvard Theological Review, Modern Judaism, Zion, and Jewish History. He is now working on an important translation, Moses Mendelssohn on Judaism: The Hebrew Writings.
