Marc Shapiro
Marc Shapiro holds the Weinberg Chair in Jewish Studies at the University of Scranton. Prof. Shapiro earned his BA summa cum laude from Brandeis University and his PhD from Harvard University. He also serves as visiting faculty at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. His many articles have appeared in journals such as "Torah u-Madda," "Tradition," "Kabbalah," "Jewish Culture and History," "Maimonidean Studies," "Judaism," and "The Journal of Jewish Studies." His books include: The Limits of Orthodox Theology: Maimonides’ Thirteen Principles Reappraised, Between the Yeshiva World and Modern Orthodoxy: The Life and Works of Rabbi Jehiel Jacob Weinberg, and Saul Lieberman and the Orthodox. He will soon publish: Studies in Maimonides and His Interpreters.
