Wayne Thompson

Wayne Thompson

Mr. Thompson has served Spertus College as an adjunct professor since 2001. He teaches the Budgeting and Finance course for the MSNM Program and participates regularly in synthesis seminars that attempt to demonstrate conceptual interrelationships between several modules within the masters program.

Mr. Thompson attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ where he earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting. He relocated to the Chicago suburbs in the early 1980s and left public accounting to pursue a professional specialty in the nonprofit sector. His first position in the Chicago area was with Central States Health and Pension Funds in Rosemont, IL from 1983–1991. He then worked as an accounting manager with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Mr. Thompson worked for UIC from 1992-1996, while taking courses to earn his MBA degree.

Since 1997, Mr. Thompson has worked with the American Dental Association as Manager of Business Analysis for this national association of dental professionals. He oversees two multi-million dollar investment funds, fixed assets and cash management functions along with the reporting responsibility for the ADA's $28 million headquarters building renovation project.
