(NOTE: If you have a defaulted student loan, or if you had a defaulted loan put into a bankruptcy, you may still become eligible for a student loan. Contact Bill Van Beene, Manager of Student Records and Financial Aid, at 312.322.1708 or bbeene@spertus.edu, to find out how you can become eligible.)
Subsidized Stafford Loan
- No interest accrues on this part of the loan while you continue to attend classes and maintain satisfactory progress.
- Repayment does not begin until six months after completing the program coursework.
- No interest accrues during this six-month grace period.
Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
- Family income has no bearing on eligibility.
- Interest on this part of the loan accrues from the day the loan is received.
Deferments
