On September 3, the new Spertus building was a site for artist Kurt Perschke's RedBall Project, an ongoing, mobile sculptural performance that has taken place in such locations as Busan, Barcelona, and Sydney. The RedBall Project functions as a series of daily installations in which a 15-foot inflatable red sphere is embedded within a city's urban environment and provides a point of interaction with people on the street. At Spertus, the ball was lodged underneath the point of the architectural "skirt" of the building's dramatic glass façade. The RedBall Project is sponsored by Target and is part of the City of Chicago's Public Art Program. Visit www.redballproject.com for further information.
