Grantwriting Certificate Workshop

Grantwriting Certificate Workshop

Tuesday, September 30, 2014 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Rooted in the belief that great Jewish communities need great leaders, Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership launches the Center for Jewish Leadership, a programmatic center dedicated to the leadership development of Jewish communal professionals and volunteers.

This was one in a series of workshops and master classes designed to enhance the knowledge, effectiveness, creativity, and strategic agility of current and future leaders, advancing the missions of the organizations they serve. Although designed for those working with Jewish agencies and organizations, the content was beneficial to anyone seeking to learn best practices, including those working in the nonprofit, for profit, and social sectors.

Grantwriting isn't just about completing an application for a grant. It is about understanding the perspectives of the foundations and corporations that invite funding proposals. This certificate workshop will teach you how to research funders, frame project goals in relation to grant guidelines, and compete in the funding process.

Taught by Dr. Karin Baird, Advisor, Faculty Chair, and Acting Director of the Spertus Master of Science in Nonprofit Management degree program. Dr. Baird has been teaching nonprofit professionals at Spertus Institute for more than a dozen years, sharing her own considerable expertise in the nonprofit arena.

Attendees receive a certificate of completion.

The Spertus Approach — Spertus Institute cultivates an atmosphere of lively discourse. We often hear from students and participants that their Spertus experiences are inspiring and transformative. That is by design, and it results in meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The Center for Jewish Leadership is supported by generous grants from the Crown Family and an anonymous foundation.
We are grateful for their support.

Learn. Lead. Inspire.
