Celebrate Student Authors in North Lawndale

Spertus Museum and Lawndale Community Academy (LCA) to celebrated the launch of Poetic Integrity and Truth: Youth Culture and Leadership in North Lawndale. Marking the third year of a Spertus/Lawndale partnership highlighting the Jewish and African American impact on the North Lawndale community, the book was written and illustrated by LCA students and explores their lives, interests, and aspirations.

Local author Elaine Soloway read from her memoir, The Division Street Princess, and discussed her path to becoming a published author.
