A community-building, professional development series for Spertus students and alumni, professionals at Chicago Jewish organizations, and their guests
Build skills you can apply immediately to your life and work, and at the same time enjoy being part of a lively network of learners and community leaders.
Spertus Institute’s esteemed scholars and practitioners will lead deep dives into topics ranging from Jewish wisdom to nonprofit management skills.
Sessions are online, live, interactive, and collaborative. Each session will include time to connect, network, meet new colleagues, and strengthen relationships.
$8 per participant per session.

How do leaders respond to feedback, including criticism, while working to grow their skills?
In this session, we'll dive into the topic by examining examples of biblical leaders and their responses to feedback and coaching, beginning with the case of Moses and his father-in-law, right from the week’s Torah reading.
Dr. Hal M. Lewis is Chancellor at Spertus, where he served as President and CEO and earned his Doctor of Jewish Studies. A prolific writer and teacher on leadership, he is principal consultant for Leadership for Impact LLC and on the faculty of the Center For Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina. Before coming to Spertus, he was CEO of the Jewish Federation of Columbus, OH and Executive Director of the American Sephardi Federation in New York.
