About Spertus Institute

All visitors to the building need to show a photo ID and proof of vaccine. Acceptable forms of photo ID: Driver's license, non-driver Government ID card, passport or school ID. Proof of vaccine may be established by: CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, official immunization record from jurisdiction, state, or country where the vaccine was administered or a digital or physical photo of such a card or record, reflecting the person's name, vaccine brand, and dates administered.

We have implemented this policy to comply with both the letter and spirit of the City Mandate and to do our best to continue to assure a safe work and learning environment.

Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership is guided by two truths: that vibrant Jewish communities are learning Jewish communities and that great Jewish communities need great leaders. Everything we do is informed by these truths.

Spertus Institute offers dynamic learning opportunities, rooted in Jewish wisdom and culture and open to all. These opportunities are designed to enable personal growth, train future leaders, and engage individuals in exploration of Jewish life.

Graduate programs and professional workshops serve constituents in the Chicago area and around the world through a variety on onsite and distance learning options.

Public programs — including films, speakers, seminars, concerts, and exhibitions — are offered at the Institute’s Michigan Avenue facility, in the Chicago suburbs, and online.

We often hear from students and participants that their experiences at Spertus are inspiring and even transformative. That is by design, because the Institute strives to offer thought-provoking content with real-world application, unparalleled resources, and a welcoming environment that encourages people to connect in an open exchange of ideas. This results in meaningful, important opportunities for personal and professional growth for constituents and communities.
